MUSIC

Global economics has had harsh repercussions for the music industry in countries where it relies primarily on the state, and developing markets have little or no state support for the sector. Both developed and developing markets, equally, are searching to find solutions for sustainable businesses and growth. Small multi-country networks and regional music markets are joining hands to work together and link each others’ efforts for a future for their regions’ artists and related businesses. Music markets that are building networks to develop new opportunities in the Indian Ocean, Asia and Asia-Pacific regions discuss their work, its impact and outcomes amidst the harsh realities.

Speakers: Gerald Seligman (Borneo World Music Expo - MY), Min Kim (Asia-Pacific Music Meeting - KR), Romuald Requena (Sakifo - RE),  Sonya Mazumdar (IndiEarth XChange - IN)
